Im Rhianna and I create works of art. Within the breadth of my work you'll find many mediums at play and interwoven, as I'm in love with the process of creating.Taking whatever material it is, and creating something new, just amazes me and drives my work. As a multimedia artist, I enjoy the soft whisper and blends of pastels, graphite, and charcoal. The building layers and patience of painting acrylic, watercolor, and gouache. The washes of alcohol markers and ink, a white gel pen for details. The scrape and application of texture. It's an obsession with the layering of the mediums, the way they react together, combine and change. It's akin to putting a glaze on clay before it's fired in the kiln, wondering if you just made or ruined the piece, hoping it'll survive the blaze, but holding the idea of what it'll be in your mind. It's truly a fantastical adventure that wrenches me, agonizes me, and at the same time gives me life. In each layer of medium I create another level to the portal that I'm trying to bid your eyes to take a moment of rest on. A moment to take a view port into my mind, take on a lens of feminine strength and tranquility. Chaos, nature, and the fantastic combine to make portraits, abstracts, and fantasy images.
